Presently, Item #9 reads: 9. add the mod_rewrite rules from g3's g2_import module page to your .htaccess file to ensure that the g2 urls continue to work - optional
And the instructions indicate that the g2 directory can be deleted. HOWEVER, the g3 g2_import module provides you with mod_rewrite rules that it instructs you to put in the OLD G2 directory so that it will rewrite URLs to point to G3.
I'm confused.
I've been with Gallery a long time, and when the migration from G1 to G2 happened, rewrite rules were indeed provided to map G1 URLs to G2 URLs, with no need to keep G1 around in any way.
