Hello, If you have a look at the tags module Gallery2:Modules:tags, you will see that it is doing the job of the keyalbum module, but with some more features (e.g. adding exisiting tags from a list). Moreover, the tags module did a redesign at the database level, adding a tags table ("g2_TagMap") and a cross-table ("g2_TagItemMap") to link to the Items. This is much cleaner than the original database design for keywords. At the moment, the tags module has a functionality to fetch exisiting keywords and parse them as tags. This is redundant...
Soo.. Using the keywords from the "g2_Item" table could be seen a a deprecated way of doing keywording/tagging. In that sense, the keyalbum module might be removed or merged into the tags module. Even better, the tags module should be default in the gallery2 distribution. What do you think about these suggestions?

The problem with the tags module is that you can not search on it. You can search for keywords. Because of this, keyword albums are still better for now. Bobobobob 15:22, 7 July 2007 (PDT)
