Talk:Gallery2:How to visually embed G2 in your own website using embedded mode

From Gallery Codex

I think a shorter title for this page might be a good idea. Something like "Gallery2:Visually embedding G2 in your site". Or not, because the current title does go with the "How to" theme. Or "Gallery2:How to Embed G2" (Wouldn't "visually" and "in your own website" be kind of a given?) Zimzat 06:54, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

This article seems to fall a little short of completely solving the problem. It gives you the hard part and then doesn't tell you "where to go next" to finish it off. Specifically: it mentions "more control" in the 'PROS' section but doesn't say how you get that control over those layout settings. A section about applying CSS rules to the embedded page would be nice. Also how does one control the number of columns(of images) displayed or the size of thumbnails and full-size images? I can't seem to find any of these things clearly documented in the case of "Visually Embedding via Embed Mode". (RavenSlay3r)

The more control I was referring to involves the GalleryCapabilities (see Gallery2:Integration_Howto#Writing_New_Integration_Code for some examples). I've contributed elsewhere on how to apply css rules using joomla templates (www.gallery-addons.com). This is no different than the joomla templates and is normal css stuff; nothing too gallery2 specific that I felt like I needed to include it in the article. To control the number of columns, you do this same way as you would in any gallery2 install, through the theme settings. Shocksll 07:40, 11 October 2006 (PDT)
