Meeting Notes: October 14 2008

obviously been a while since non-apache/non-mysql tests have been run, but in progress
fixed a lot of issues but not quote done yet
- need to fix some Oracle isues
- update adodb and smarty libs - talmdal on it
- check other libs for updates - talmdal on it
need nice G2.3 story for GMC. 1 paragraph or so for each new major feature (http://gallery.menalto.com/gallery_2.3_RC2_released is a good start, as is http://gallery.menalto.com/gallery_2.2_released) - ckdake partially on it but needs assistance
packages by Thursday, upgrade testing on Thursday/Friday, release this weekend. (ckdake is traveling this weekend)

GX Sprint

bhrat, jmullan, talmdal have been evaluating various frameworks
bhrat leaning towards Kohana - new release in 5 months with API changes
criteria include that it be based on php5: symphony, prado, zoop, kohana, zend (all under eval on sf.net svn)
valiant mentions that we might have passed through flow3 pretty quickly since it is not "finished", but kohana is also pretty young (~8 months)
josefs has been going through -devel and categorizing things, will update spreadsheet soon
valiant would like to see plan (schedule, goals) for the 3 day sprint before we get there - talmdal says to consider it done by Saturday
ckdake will follow up with signe and thumb to make sure they are doing what they agreed to do
bharat has room, etc all set at Google
look at jhilden's teams personas (see usability below!) and remember that we plan to do a UX driven application design process
wireframes
- more options/links etc would be nice
- where is the site admin one? => http://jkwebs.de/gallery/gx/Admin.html
- picassa web UI is good thing to look at
- valiant says important to take menu UI into consideration for application design so that data/hook providers can be simple and UI design easy

- backport fixes and ask for code reviews or contact the security team to see if 2.2.5 can go in
- post versions to backports.org
talmdal
- continue to push johndbritton for more documentation
- run full test suite

- finish putting together MS testing plan ("I'll write an updated text tomorrow and get that done with. ")
- add more to test matrix for other platforms ("No updates on MS testing plan, but I'll try to get something done about that before the next meeting.")
